eat coolangatta

Where to eat, drink and be merry in Kirra, Coolangatta and Currumbin.

When you visit us at Iconic Kirra, you will be completely spoiled for choice when it comes to dining.

The team here at Iconic are all foodies and we love to get out and about the southern end of the Gold Coast. So we’ve collated a list of our favourites for all you coffee lovers, foodies and bar-goers!

Breakfast

Dust Temple

Within the industrial area of Currumbin Waters, is the very cool cafe and art gallery – Dust Temple. There are lots of little nooks to sit in, beautiful artwork to look at, good food and coffee and a chilled out vibe.

Stable Coffee Kitchen

The Stable is located within a little centre of boutique shops with a yoga studio upstairs and a grassy outdoor area to enjoy your lunch or breakfast in the sun. The food is fresh and delicious made with locally grown and organic produce.  Oh, and they have great coffee of course!

Cafe D’Bar

Cafe D’Bar is a popular spot for the locals. It’s a boutique cafe with great coffee and food. If you’re lucky enough to get a seat upstairs you’ll also get an epic view of D’Bar beach.

Freemans Organic Farm

If you’re looking for breakfast with the best view on the Gold Coast, then Freemans Organic Farm is a must-do. Take a drive through the stunning Currumbin Valley and stop at this charming little market. The cafe is open from Friday – Monday and offers organic breakfast toasties and delicious cakes. (Note: there aren’t too many gluten-free options). Sometimes you’ll be able to catch some live music while taking in this view:

Lunch and Dinner

Baskk

You can’t visit Kirra without going to Baskk Italian. It’s got everything you need from an amazing atmosphere, cocktails, great wines, beers and delicious Italian food.

Bread and Butter

Just a few steps away from Iconic, you’ll find this little gem. Bread and Butter is a restaurant and lounge bar that serves stoned baked pizzas, Spanish tapas, handmade gnocchi, pasta, cocktails and have a large selection of wine and beer.

St Helens Coolangatta Bar & Grill

This favourite of ours is located at bottom of the Iconic Kirra building. It has a cool little pub atmosphere with live music, craft beers, cocktails and quality wines. They have some great specials all through the week too, so be sure to check them out.

Bondi Grill’e

If you’re a meat-lover then look no further than Bondi Grill’e. These guys know how to make the best slow-cooked, smoked BBQ ribs on the Gold Coast! Great atmosphere and great burgers too.

Greenhouse Canteen

This is a popular vegan restaurant located in the heart of Coolangatta. Even if you aren’t vegan, the food is to die for. Be sure to order one of their decadent desserts too!

For the Drinks and Fun!

If you’re after a nice bar and some nibbles, then check out Bin 72 in Coolangatta or Craft House in Tugun. (Oh and of course Baskk!)

For something different, Eddie’s Grub House is a grungy, dimly-lit, dive bar with live music, whisky, beers and burgers. Most nights there’s live blues and rock’n’roll, and good vibes.

Last but not least, there’s the Cooly Hotel. If you’re up for a night on the dance floor or to check out some live music, this place is busy until the wee hours of the morning! Warning – it can get pretty rowdy!

Enjoy! 🙂
